Kent Morris
Owner/Founder
Kent founded Morris Construction in 1997 with a commitment to quality craftsmanship and honest work. Over the years, he has earned the trust of clients throughout Southeastern Idaho, building a reputation as one of the region’s premier custom home builders. This dedication to integrity and attention to detail has led to the successful completion of more than 200 custom homes in the area.
In recent years, Kent expanded into the multifamily housing industry, where Morris Construction has quickly established a strong presence. The company has completed construction on more than 65 multifamily units and currently has an additional 65 units under development.
Throughout his career, Kent’s guiding principle has been simple: do honest work and treat people right. That philosophy continues to shape Morris Construction today, resulting in strong client relationships, consistent referrals, and many repeat customers who trust the company with their projects.
Josh Fair
Multifamily Project Manager
Josh has been a valued member of Morris Construction for over six years and brings extensive hands-on experience to the team. Having worked in the construction industry since the age of 18, he has developed a strong skill set across commercial, residential, and multifamily construction. In addition to his work with Morris Construction, Josh also owns and operates his own drywall company, further expanding his expertise in the field. His broad knowledge, strong work ethic, and years of practical experience make him a key part of delivering high-quality projects and maintaining the standard of craftsmanship Morris Construction is known for.
Richard Harmon
Office Manager
Richard serves as the Office Manager at Morris Construction. He joined the company in 2025 bringing many years of experience in operations and revenue planning. He specializes in bridging the gap between field operations and office administration, focusing on financials, project documentation, and cost control. He is passionate about fostering a positive, organized, and collaborative work environment and is dedicated to ensuring our clients receive exceptional service from contract to closeout.
Merl Putnam
Custom Home Project Manager
Merl serves as Morris Construction’s master carpenter, bringing decades of craftsmanship and experience to every project. He has worked in the construction industry since 1991 and has specialized in finish carpentry since 2001. Known for his precision, attention to detail, and dedication to quality, Merl has helped bring countless homeowners’ visions to life. His skill and passion for fine craftsmanship play an important role in delivering the high-quality finishes that Morris Construction is known for.
Styrling Morris
Operations Manager
Styrling, Kent’s son, has been involved in construction for as long as he can remember—working alongside his father from the time he was old enough to hold a shovel. Growing up around the job site gave him a strong foundation in the values of hard work, craftsmanship, and integrity that Morris Construction was built on.
After graduating from Utah Valley University, Styrling gained experience in several areas of the construction industry, developing a well-rounded understanding of the field. In recent years, he has focused on honing his skills as a commercial estimator and project manager, gaining valuable experience in planning, budgeting, and overseeing projects from start to finish.
Today, Styrling is excited to bring that expanded perspective and expertise back to Morris Construction, helping the company continue to grow while building on the strong reputation his father established.
